Peking-Paris Rally

The original Peking to Paris rally took place in 1907 when just five drivers responded to one of the earliest and greatest motoring challenges. In 1997 Phil Bowen and I joined the commemorative line-up in our 1968 Volvo 122 Amazon, taking our place amongst 100 other crews in every breed of vehicle from vintage Bentleys and Railtons to Chevvy Camaros and even a Morris Minor. We covered 16,000km in 45 days – not always easily or harmoniously, but it was an unforgettable adventure. Read the full story in BORDER CROSSING.
